Pub Quiz Night

Hi!

Our pub quiz night went down well with all. It included some fantastic entertainment, great raffle prizes and a grand total of £900 raised!

We're so pleased to say that this has helped to take us over the 80% that we needed to secure our place on the trek...so a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who has supported us!!!

We'd also like to say a massive thank you to the team at Lycetts Insurance, Newcastle, for their corporate sponsorship. We'll be wearing their logo on our kit with pride throughout the trek.

Great North Run!

Well, we're pleased to say that we both finished the Great North Run this year in a respectable 2hrs 6mins! (Even more impressive as Lyndsey had to run despite suffering from tendonitis in her knee, which was v.painful!). A fantastic day and once again the weather didn't disappoint.

Well done to everyone who took part and raised money for charity.

Pre-Trek Training Weekend in Snowdonia

Hi!

We've finally got round to uploading some pics from our pre-trek training weekend with Expedition Wise in September which took place at Pen-y-pass youth hostel in Snowdonia.

We arrived on the Friday and met up with the rest of the group who were doing similar challenges, Saturday saw us all walking to the top of Mount Snowdon and learning about medical and hygeine issues, the right kit to take, pacing, water intake, etc. then Sunday was spent around the beautiful Ogwen Valley.

Really fun and informative weekend, we were with a great group of people and were lucky enough to have warm weather and sunshine! We left feeling so much more prepared for the trek ahead!

Our First Fundraising Event!

Hi Everyone,

We are now officially over the half way mark..... woo hoo!!!

We had our first major fundraiser this week at the Orchid Chinese Restaurant in Newcastle and we had 110 people there. It was great fun, and we had a great raffle. The whole evening was a fantastic success with us raising over £1300 towards our goal.

THANK YOU SO MUCH TO EVERYONE FOR THE SUPPORT ON THE NIGHT.

We also spent last weekend on a pre-expedition training weekend in Wales. We took some great photos and watch this space as we will be uploading them over the next few days and you can hear all about our adventures in Wales.

Our first £1000!!!

Hi Everyone!!

Just a quick update to say a HUGE, HUGE thanks to all those that have sponsored us so far, as we have now passed our first £1000... woo hoo!!! We are really pleased to have passed this first milestone!!

We are still training hard, as the Great North Run is only 4 weeks away and next weekend sees us climb Snowdon in preparation for China! (That is if it stops flooding in Wales!)

We have received all of our fundraising kit from Macmillan, including everything from vests to balloons to badges. It all looks great and you will see it all displayed at our fundraising events.

What we're facing!

Our first blog post!!!

Okay, so we're totally new to this whole blogging thing, but we thought we'd give it a go so that we can keep you all updated and record our journey through our charity challenge.

So far we've managed to raise nearly £600 and we haven't even had an event yet so we'd just like to say a huge THANKS to everyone who has sponsored us so far!!!

We'll be putting as much info on here as we can (once we've sussed it out!) so we hope you'll keep checking on our progress as we go along...!
